Iowa State bookstore and bookstore sells to the highest bidder
Tcu bookstore and the popular bookstore Iowa state, along with the Omaha Public Library, have agreed to sell all of their assets to a bidder for an undisclosed amount.
The Omaha Public library has also agreed to part with some of its inventory as well.
The bookstores’ lease expires at the end of the month.
The deal with Barnes & Noble will take effect on Jan. 16, the libraries said in a news release.
The Barnes & Norris stores have been open since April 2009.
The books and the other assets were part of the company’s purchase of the Iowa-Pueblo Public Library in December.
The Iowa City Council approved the sale last week, and the city council and city manager have agreed that the books will be returned to the libraries.
A number of local governments have sold off some or all of the assets.
The libraries in Iowa, Colorado, Omaha and Sioux Falls, South Dakota, are among the local governments that have sold their holdings.
The Barnes & Nobles will be moved into a space next to the library.
The sale is expected to close in the second half of the year, the Libraries said.
