Tampines man accused of raping woman and stealing a horse
A Florida man accused on Friday of raping a woman and forcing her to work on his farm has been charged with animal cruelty, authorities said.
The arrest of Kevin Hammes, 32, came hours after a woman told authorities she was sexually assaulted by the father of his 2-year-old daughter, according to an arrest affidavit.
Hammes has been held on $500,000 bond in Seminole County Jail.
He is scheduled to appear in court on June 3.
Police say Hammes was a registered sex offender in Florida.
He was arrested on a complaint from a woman in Florida who said he abused her at his property on Feb. 16.
The woman was living with Hammes and the man’s girlfriend when she reported the abuse.
The couple is cooperating with investigators, authorities wrote in the arrest affidavit, which was provided by Seminole county police.
