What do you think of the last book store?
The last bookstore in Australia has closed its doors, with no signs of the former bookseller in sight.
In a statement on its Facebook page on Saturday, the store, in the small town of Tullamarine, said it had sold its last copy of the bookshop’s catalogue.
“We thank you for all your support and support of the Tullams books,” the statement said.
“As of today, we have ceased to sell any books.
This is a sad day for the community and for the bookseller and we would like to thank you again for all of your support.”
The store was the last remaining bookstore in the state, and is located on a corner of the city’s main shopping street.
The closure comes just days after it announced it would close its doors after a period of time.
The last bookshop in the world, with over 300 titles, has been in the Trolmata shopping centre for three decades.
It opened in 2002.
In recent years, the community of about 1,200 people has been dealing with increased crime, drug use and homelessness.
